Description
The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Powerboat Level 2 course is an entry level powerboat course onboard a 6.5m RIB covering all you need to know for self-sufficient powerboating.
This course takes place afloat and focuses on low speed, close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, collision regulations, safety at sea and an introduction to driving at planning speed.
It is ideal for those who are new to boating or never driven a powerboat before. The instructor to student ratio is 3:1 allowing you plenty of time on the water.
- By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of:
- Safe operation of a powerboat at low and planing speeds.
- Coming alongside and leaving a berth safely.
- Steering and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Basic navigation awareness and collision avoidance.
- Understanding the effects of wind and tide on boat handling.
- Safe use of throttle and steering controls.
- Essential on‑water safety procedures and emergency awareness.
Included in the course price is your RYA Powerboat Level 2 certification, RYA Powerboat Handbook and Logbook.
