Description
This classroom-based course prepares candidates for the BVI Boatmaster Grade 2/3 oral examination with the Virgin Islands Shipping and Maritime Authority (VISMA).
Participants should already hold valid STCW Basic Safety Training certification and have completed a minimum of three months of qualifying sea time in line with VISMA requirements. In addition, it is recommended that persons have completed the Introduction to Caribbean Boatmaster course, OR already have knowledge with the Grade 3 topics listed in Annex 11 of the Small Commercial Vessels (SCV) Code.
The course includes a brief review of topics from the Introduction to Caribbean Boatmaster course, with a primary focus on developing knowledge and covering the additional competencies required for the Boatmaster Grade 2 oral examination.
